musicpark Presents the Drummer & Percussion Line-up 2019

Twelve drummers bring the beat to the musicpark: In the brand-new sweatbloodtears box #DRUM, which is one of the main attractions in hall 2 at musicpark, local and international drummers perform live on their tour sets, share their knowledge at the Academy or introduce beginners to the instruments in the PlayZone. The musicpark takes place from the 1 to 3 of November on the grounds of the Leipzig Exhibition Centre and promises a musical experience that will give you goosebumps.

When putting together the artist roster, the emphasis was placed on the complexity and different genres. The sweatbloodtears (SBT) portfolio ranges from Youtube stars to Arena heavy metal drummers from the USA, Japan and Europe. Besides Karl Brazil, who drums for Robbie Williams and James Blunt, the scene’s shooting star, or better said the new icon from Japan, Senri Kawaguchi, will also be there. Patrick Metzger is not only associated with the feel-good music of Beatrice Egli, for whom he drums, but also with his great expertise in the field of drumming. Jost Nickel is responsible for the grooves of Jan Delay and has made an excellent name for himself throughout Europe and overseas.

Gary Wallis is probably one of the most underrated drummers in the world. His roots can be traced back to his work with Pink Floyd. For many years he has been Tom Jones’ musical director. He is also a founding member of Mike & the Mechanics. His most recent project is Schiller. This live act has successfully performed a bombastic show in the biggest arenas all around German-speaking countries. Will Hunt from the USA drums for Evanescence. Michael Schack now has cult status in his home region of Benelux. Now, in addition to Netsky, he performs a solo act in 10,000-seater arenas. Max & Simon with their percussion duo “Dreschheads” are also a big hit internationally. Moritz Müller performs with the Italian rock goddess Gianna Nannini. He is also a member of Rock meets Classic – an ensemble in which superstars such as Alice Cooper and other stars of rock history tour with a large orchestra. Jose Cortijo and Stefan Maas have become an irreplaceable part of the percussion faction. Both shine with their playing styles and their sound varieties.

Selected musicians will, of course, be performing in the SBT-Box #DRUM and also giving a lecture or masterclass on the College & Academy stage. The final schedule will be published soon. All twelve drummers will be at the musicpark on all three days.
