Buddy Rich è un nome familiare sia tra i batteristi che tra i non batteristi. È stato considerato da molti il più grande batterista di tutti i tempi. Dai suoi primi spettacoli di vaudeville, “Traps the Drum Wonder” fino alle sue band che hanno fatto molte tournée negli anni ’60 e ’70, Buddy Rich è stato un artista ma anche un intrattenitore per tutta la vita.
