Unire più espressioni artistiche: la danza come espressione naturale del corpo, la voce e le sue vibrazioni, mescolare generi sottomettendoli al timbro del tamburo.
Portare sul palco una gestualità che diventa linguaggio universale.

Tutto questo è Tamburi del Sud un’enorme massa di energia che si sprigiona inesorabile ogni qualvolta ci si trovi su di un palco, tra la gente, in armonia con se stessi e con il mondo. Un’energia che si manifesterà anche a Roma, il 6 ottobre a Batterika presso l’SGM Conference Center in via Portuense 741, un vero e proprio evento che chiuderà, alle 20:45 sul Palco Concerti, la manifestazione divenuta ormai un cult.

A new instructional drumming video from pop/Gospel/R&B/rock drumming sensation George “Spanky” McCurdy (drummer for Lady Gaga, Diddy, Kanye West, Jill Scott, Justin Timberlake, and Timbaland).

Spanky’s playing has long been admired by awestruck drumming fans, and now he divulges his secrets on this new video!

Off Time/On Time explains and demonstrates a wealth of concepts, licks, and secrets to taking your playing to an entirely new level. One of the main topics covered on the DVD is the ability to play creative grooves and fills that are extremely creative and can sound “off time.” Spanky performs many examples, from basic to very advanced, where he shows you his concepts and secrets to “off time” playing. Examples are performed at different metronome settings, and other approaches are explained, including taking an idea on one surface and moving it around kit. All of these examples are applicable to R&B, pop, rock, and gospel playing situations.

Se ne va l’ultimo storico testimone del più antico segreto sulla fabbricazione dei piatti.

Dopo la fortunata gestione della Avedis Zildjian Company, Robert Zildjian fonda la Sabian ed entra nella Business Hall of Fame

All’età di 89 anni ci ha lasciato Robert Zildjian fondatore della Sabian Cymbals. Con queste parole la Sabian lo ricorda affettuosamente: “È con profondo dolore che annunciamo la scomparsa di Robert “RZ” Zildjian, il nostro amato fondatore e leader. Una forza instancabile e dinamica nel settore del tamburo, ha ispirato ciascuno di noi della famiglia Sabian a lavorare di più, per arrivare più lontano e fare la differenza – dandoci l’esempio.”  

Robert (Bob) Zildjian was the descendant of 10 generations of Armenian cymbal makers. His father Avedis Zildjian emigrated to Boston from Turkey in the early 1900’s. In 1928, his great-uncle Aram also came to Boston, bringing with him the family process and trade secrets in metalworking and cymbal-making. Together, they set up the Avedis Zildjian Company, where they began manufacturing cymbals for the rest of the world.
