Kangarudiments

Kangarudiments, by Art Bernstein, is an eBook featuring rudiment lists and etudes/solos for snare drum.

The book includes 34 pages of warmups, rudiments, and snare drum solos. Designed for beginning to intermediate player, the solos feature a variety of rudiments, which progress in difficulty as the book advances. Each solo can be performed at a range of tempos, and suggested stickings are notated for each.

Also included are video examples for each solo, performed at various tempos, to serve as a guide for students and teachers, alike.

RBH Vintage Drums

RBH Drums è un’azienda statunitense (più precisamente della Virginia) specializzata nella produzione artigianale di batterie e rullanti in stile vintage. Da quando è stata fondato nel 1998 da Bruce Hagwood, percussionista e mastro falegname, RBH si è concentrata principalmente sull’utilizzo del sottile multistrato di mogano/pioppo utilizzato durante la metà del XX secolo dalle più importanti compagnie americane produttrici di batterie.

Rhythmic Imagination: Brazilian Rhythms Coordination Studies, by Ramon Montagner, seeks to help students develop the aptitude for the execution of rhythms, and ascend some steps further in the sense of rhythmic independence.
The method is based on his extensive use and experimentation of his own material with students for over a decade, inspired by the systems used by Gary Chester, Alan Dawson, and John Ramsay, as well as Marvin Dahlgren, Elliot Fine, and Norman Grossman.

Ludwig Atlas Classic Hardware

La transizione dagli anni ’60 agli anni ’70 vide un cambiamento epocale nella produzione delle batterie poiché i batteristi richiedevano hardware molto più resistente, pesante e performante.

Durante gli anni ’60 Ludwig produsse e rese popolare la così detta Flat Based Line, una linea a base piatta che comprendeva il charleston denominato Miracle ma che non rappresentava il massimo della robustezza.

Gradualmente Ludwig ha aggiustato le cose rinforzando alcune parti dell’hardware inserendo le linee Atlas e Hercules che introducevano i treppiedi.

Visto per la prima volta nel 1966, la linea Atlas introdusse il cavalletto sostituendo la base piatta. Il nome Atlas è stato reintrodotto nel 2012 con tre nuove serie: la gamma media Standard, la massiccia Pro e la classica base piatta, che analizzeremo in questo articolo.

Kosa Cuba, a Sizzling Success

The KoSA Music directors – Aldo Mazza and his musician/business partner & wife- Dr. Jolán Kovács – just returned from sunny and hot Havana, Cuba after celebrating a successful 18th edition of their annual drum & percussion program: KoSA Cuba. This week-long drum and percussion camp, in collaboration with the “Fiesta Del Tambor” (The Rhythm & Dance Festival) put a spotlight on the immense talent of Cuban musicians and dancers and provided an insight on this island’s rich history and fascinating culture. This year’s trip took place March 3– 10, 2019 in the historical capital of Havana.

All Access To Aquiles Priester’s Drumming

Drummer Aquiles Priester has just released the first official teaser for his new DVD and Blu-ray, “All Access To Aquiles Priester’s Drumming”.

Recorded in the studios of the Harman Experience Center in Los Angeles, CA, in August 2018 “All Access to Aquiles Priester’s Drumming” brings, besides the institutional lesson, themes that the drummer registered on Hangar’s last album, “Stronger than Ever”, tracks from the three albums he recorded with Noturnall and the two new compositions by Edu Falaschi executed by the same musicians of his solo tour “Rebirth of Shadows Tour”. It was shot by Foggy Films with 12 cameras, designed by producers Junior Carelli and Rudge Campos, in partnership with Adair Daufembach, who took care of the recording, mixing and mastering.
